Sendcloud
With Sendcloud you ship parcels through PostNL, DPD, GLS, DHL and other carriers, with your own Sendcloud account and your own rates. If Sendcloud is your shipping setup, Teamdock creates a Sendcloud label as soon as you mark an order picked and sends it straight to your shipping label printer.
What you need
Section titled “What you need”- A Sendcloud account. You can create a free account at sendcloud.com.
- In Sendcloud, the carriers and shipping methods you want to use.
- Your Public key and Secret key. You find them in Sendcloud under Settings → Integrations → Sendcloud API.
- For automatic printing: PrintNode and a shipping label printer in Teamdock (see Labels and printers).
Connecting Sendcloud
Section titled “Connecting Sendcloud”A few labels on this form are currently shown in Dutch only; they are given below with a translation.
- Go to Settings → Shipping → Carriers.
- Under Shipping setup — one is active, choose Sendcloud and confirm.
- Click Connect on the Sendcloud card.
- Paste your Public key and Secret key.
- Click Save.
- Under Standaard verzendmethode (default shipping method), click Verzendmethoden ophalen uit Sendcloud (fetch shipping methods from Sendcloud) and choose the method that fits your standard parcel. Each method shows its carrier and maximum weight.
- Click Save again.
- Copy the Webhook URL shown at the bottom and paste it in Sendcloud under Settings → Integrations → Sendcloud API → Webhook URL.
- Click Test connection. You see Connection successful! when it works.
Checking the configuration
Section titled “Checking the configuration”Configuratie controleren (check configuration) shows in one go:
- whether the public key and the secret key are set;
- whether the API connection with Sendcloud works, with the error if it does not;
- whether a default shipping method has been chosen, and which ID it is.
How it works when picking
Section titled “How it works when picking”When you mark a paid order picked, Teamdock does this:
- The order is marked picked, with a note saying who picked it and which packaging was used.
- Teamdock creates a shipment in Sendcloud with the order’s delivery address (or the billing address if there is no delivery address), the order number and your default shipping method. The weight comes from the packaging you enter when picking; without packaging Teamdock uses 1 kg.
- The tracking number is added as a note to the order.
- The label is downloaded and sent to your shipping label printer.
If the label fails, the order still counts as picked and you see the error. Orders for collection in the shop never get a label. How picking works in Teamdock is explained under Orders.
Status updates from Sendcloud
Section titled “Status updates from Sendcloud”Through the webhook Sendcloud sends every status change to Teamdock. Teamdock adds a note to the order for it, for example that the label was created, the parcel was announced or is in transit, or that delivery failed. When Sendcloud reports the parcel as delivered, Teamdock sets the order to Completed.
Teamdock only accepts messages signed with your secret key. Without a secret key set, webhook messages are ignored.
Automations
Section titled “Automations”Under the Sendcloud setup, the automation action for a shipping label can also make a Sendcloud label, for example as soon as an order is paid. See Automation.
Limitations
Section titled “Limitations”- A Sendcloud shipment does not appear as a separate shipment on the Shipping page. The order stays under To ship until Sendcloud reports the parcel as delivered and the order is completed. You follow the status in the notes on the order.
- Cancelling and return labels are done in Sendcloud itself.
- Teamdock uses one default shipping method for all labels. The list of methods is fetched for shipments within the Netherlands.
Troubleshooting
Section titled “Troubleshooting”- No label after picking. Click Configuratie controleren. Usually the default shipping method is missing or a key is wrong.
- “Geen verzendmethoden gevonden” (no shipping methods found). Check in your Sendcloud account which carriers and methods are active.
- The label was made but not printed. Set up a shipping label printer under Settings → Printers & labels → Printers.
- No status notes. Check that the webhook URL in Sendcloud matches the one in Teamdock exactly.
